René Caissie

En plus d'être membre du Collège Royal, chargé d’enseignement clinique à la Faculté de Médecine de l'Université de Montréal, ancien chef du service de chirurgie buccale et maxillo-faciale de l’HSC et chargé de cours à l'Université McGill, le Dr René Caissie est aussi entrepreneur en série. Premièrement, le Dr Caissie a fondé le dossier médical électronique “Medesync” qui fut acquis par Telus Santé en 2015. Entre 2008 et 2019, le Dr Caissie a fondé et dirigé la “Clinique de Chirurgie Buccale et Maxillofaciale du Grand Montréal”, entreprise spécialisée en chirurgie ORL, maxillo-faciale et en dentisterie. Le Dr Caissie a également cofondé la compagnie Summit Travel Health, qui compte aujourd’hui 12 cliniques à travers le Québec et l’Ontario. En 2017, le Dr Caissie a cofondé Dorma Lab. L'entreprise s'étend à travers le Canada grâce à la création d'un portail patient-médecin en ligne. En 2020, il cofonde Dorma Filtration et co-conçoit une cagoule de protection respiratoire, fabriquée et distribuées par CCM Hockey. Il a ensuite co-conçu l’appareil de protection respiratoire Dorma-99 pour soutenir les institutions médicales à faire face à la pénurie d’EPI au Québec et au Canada. Le Dr Caissie a également publié plusieurs articles sur la régénération nerveuse et la chirurgie maxillo-faciale. Il travaille toujours comme bénévole au sein du Projet Volte-Face, organisation à but non lucrative qu’il a créée en 2008, qui regroupe des professionnels de la santé fournissant des soins reconstructifs ou chirurgicaux aux patients atteints d’anomalies cranio-faciales. Le Dr Caissie se réjouit de pouvoir utiliser son expertise pour améliorer la vie des patients et des travailleurs de la santé.
